DOGGIES LIKE RESTAURANT WEEK TOO!

KSDK-TV covered the canine cuisine truck that joined in the Greater St. Louis Restaurant Week fun this weekend in the Central West End neighborhood.

Chef Michael's Food for Dogs delighted four-legged diners with a taste of their gourmet food while their human companions tried the Restaurant Week menu at Wild Flower at the corner of Euclid and Laclede.

Greater St. Louis Restaurant Week continues through October 21 with fixed-price menus for lunch and dinner at restaurants across St. Louis.

When you purchase a restaurant week meal, ten percent of your meal cost is donated to Operation Food Search's Operation Backpack program which provides food for children who might otherwise go hungry over the weekend.

Save the Date for Dining

Greater St. Louis Restaurant Week Offers Fun, Fixed-Price Dining, October 12 – 21, 2012

WHAT:           Greater St. Louis Restaurant Week

WHEN:          October 12 – 21, 2012

WHERE:        Restaurants all across the St. Louis region

DETAILS:      More than 100 participating restaurants will offer fixed-price multi-course  menus at lunch and dinner during Greater St. Louis Restaurant Week to encourage residents and visitors to enjoy new dining experiences.  During past events, 76 percent of customers were first-time diners at participating restaurants.

BENEFIT:     Beyond the opportunity to try new restaurants at fixed prices, diners will be helping a worthwhile St. Louis charity during Greater St. Louis Restaurant Week.

Ten percent of the price of each fixed-price meal purchased during Greater St.Louis Restaurant Week will be donated to Operation Food Search’s OperationBackpack program.

Eighty-five percent of children enrolled in St. Louis public schools rely on free or reduced-cost meal programs. For those children, weekends are filled with hunger and despair, as they often go home to houses with little or no food.

Operation Backpack provides backpacks filled with nutritious, kid-friendly foods on Fridays to help children from disadvantaged circumstances supplement their weekend needs. Backpacks are returned on Mondays and re-filled for the following weekend.
